Good morning everyone Today is spud day 2. The potatoes must be processed , whether I like it or not. What's the ratio dehydrated to canned? I bought a bunch of dehydrated potato boxed dinners ~ I have them shoved back in the ELAWKI supplies. They look like they'll be good at least until the 2nd Coming ~ they're sealed in bug proof plastic. Of course, whatever seasonings are included will get tossed, but the dried tater slices should be good to go. How long does dehydrating take? Shelf life?  |

I really like a potato, mashed, sauted, baked etc. However, I had to cut out pots to shed 2 stone in weight. Now it is has come to light that potatoes are high in oxalates, one medium potato has 97mg of oxalates per serving. www.webmd.com/diet/foods-high-in-oxalatesIt might be easier to list the foods that are LOW in oxalates. |

One of Trumps flaws has been what comes across as support for some of the NeoCon agendas. It's difficult to say how much he truly supports these projects or if it is another case of having bad actors in his inner circle as advisors. We all hope he learned this lesson from his first go round. As far as this article reframing what he actually said, it's more like what he did with NATO during his term, insisting that the EU must foot their part of the bill as are the terms of the partnership. The US (over) paying the lions share has allowed the US foreign policy to dominate NATO. Take away the US overpaying and the war stops. What I got from Trumps words in the article is that US should not be bearing the financial burden of this war, and that if he was in power, he would end it. Just another case of media twisting his words to attempt to damage his base. Zactly.  |

I have only dehydrated store bought frozen hash browns. Potatoes need to be boiled for 2-3 minutes before freezing or dehydrating to preserve their color. I think it took 8-10 hours to dehydrate them. I have some of those vacuum sealed in mason jars from 8 years ago. I use them in soup. They tend to be bland. Ground up in a blender they thicken the soup. |

Thanks for the email T-Dub
I need a favor. Something is wrong with Sammy and he's at the vet.
He was fine this morning but when I went home at lunch he was having trouble breathing and wouldn't get off the floor. I had to carry him to the truck and take him to the Vet. He felt really cold and I'm afraid he might not make it.
I'm still waiting for a phone call from his doctor.
I would really appreciate it If you would say a quick prayer for him
