I treated myself today, a lovely rump steak cooked in the griddle. Humous served with it and some veg cooked in garlic and balsamic vinegar with dried dill and basil.
My veg included Pak choi, Spring Onions, Red Pepper, Apple and Courgette.

Have a bunch of fresh garden stuff to use up. Rough pulse (3-4 times), jalapeƱos, mint, bee balm, cilantro, red onion, elephant garlic in a food processor (OR dice with a knife) Put in a med sized mixing bowl. Add 2 ripe peeled/diced mangos, a ripe/diced avocado, diced tomatoes (optional) and diced pineapple (optional). Add salt and pepper to taste. A dash or two of cumin if you like it I do, but...well, I'll say it...if you don't like cumin in your salsa, you must be pretty much a terrible person in general.....There. Now it has been put out there and we will all just have to deal with it. I stand by my statements. I have the science to back it up. Anyway....salsa, Grilled/cedar planked Ahi tuna steaks with lemon pepper and lavender rub (The Tuna is 6$ at Aldi. Has 2-3 per package. Sold by weight) and some homemade tzatziki. I have 5 cukes to use up and some fresh dill, so why not? First time in awhile I have felt up to doing some fun cooking.

Daughter #2 bought me a 50# sack of potatoes at the wholesale produce market. I canned 36 pints of diced potatoes on Sunday.
Monday evening, since I still had an abundance of spuds, daughter #3 and I baked up a huge pan of augratin potatoes with ham chunks mixed in and a few Cubanell peppers for color. Wooo! Was it ever good!

I've had some ice cream and red plums. Next having some salmon on a bed of veg from yesterday. Shouldn't really reheat the veg due to an increase of histamine. However, I don't like throwing food away, especially when it tastes that good.

Starving still. For lunch I had 2 tablespoons of cottage cheese. 5 Cherry tomatoes and a half pint of gatorade. Not sure what the diettress has in mind this evening. Saturday we have guests over. Steak, bakers and corn on the cob. I might die before then. OH so I guess it is tacos with very little meat. This might be the night I die!

Turkey, veggies, gravy with biscuits baked in the oven. Sort of shepherd's pie without the sheeps.

Shrimp and pasta with veggies/herbs from the garden. Simple, easy on the GI tract, and really good shit. Every year forget how much I enjoy growing my own food. One of these days I'll talk the wife into 3-4 hens. Been trying for 10 years or so. She's starting to crack. Heh.

Lemon chicken cooked in the oven, it has a soya sauce and honey dressing, with egg noodles, asparagus and pak choi.
