This is all my lovely bride will let me have as far as whiskey. And only twice a week. But I do sneak in a little vodka now and again.

Looks like a whole new place. We were just getting to know the posting talk forum and then it was not available, that was a surprise. Jack (Major) sent an email to signup here at this place via the farm. Is this the same group of people that we were getting to chat with at the other forum? It's strange to once again have to figure out this stuff/ My name is Jim and i am a farmer and a vet. There are 6 of us running the farm and the ranch lands. With the major and his family there are 10 of us and then several other employees here and at the mine site. If that intel doesn't resonate with folks here then i am at the wrong place. My apologies for interupting. Lots of phishing these days my son tells me
Hi Jim, and we are glad you joined our group. Some of us have been together (at one forum or another) for 10 to 15 years now.
It sounds to me like you will resonate just fine with the folks here.

Good morning, grey clouds and forecast rain again today, 19c.
Received another dream this morning, a friend asked about what jewellery she should wear, I replied, "AMBER".
In gemstones, Amber is for communications when there is a throat chakra blockage.

Good morning everyone
A bit of a sore throat this morning. I still have my tonsils. My parents were too poor to go with the trend in the 50's of removing them and adenoids.

It sure would be handy to have a list of say the 20 most coomon foods with oxalates. I have no idea other than the peanuts and potatoes which of course, I love!! There are charts in the book, so I will do my best to give you the information when I get to that part in the book. She also offers appropriate options to the foods that are high in oxalates. The amount of oxalates a person chooses to have is really dependent on how far a person would like to go to eliminate has many oxalates as possible. Oxalates get embedded in the body and have been in our bodies since children, so its not a quick fix, although I think one could stabilise and lessen further damage to the body, by greatly reducing the amount of oxalates that we consume. I know I've already helped my body by shedding 2 stone and reduced the oxalates at the same time since February. From what I've read thus far, this book is a must for everyone to read. The sort of book to buy for family and friends for birthdays and Christmas. In the UK I was able to buy it on-line for £12.00. A reasonable price and very well presented. I am a member of some low oxalate diet groups on facebook. They STRONGLY recommend reducing oxalates SLOWLY because the "dumping" symptoms can be severe. The other thing they mention is that oxalate "dumping" is cyclical, and may continue over the course of several years - this is due to the fact that oxalates are stored in the body's cells - as one reduces oxalate intake, some of the stored oxalates are release. This is why the "dumping" can take awhile. They have charts and spreadsheets, etc. If interested the groups are a family of "Try Low Oxylates" or TLO groups. You have to join their main group then ask for access into some of the other groups you may be interested in. The main group has a LOT of files that can be downloaded. The extensive spreadsheet has copyright info in it. Thus the reason they make you go through their main group to access the Spreadsheet group. It's not to be shared publicly. Also, the spreadsheet is based on items that have been tested in a lab so that it will be more accurate than most info one finds elsewhere. That said, I don't have any idea where Sally Norton gets her information, or whether it's tested. I'm just sharing what I have personal knowledge of.

Also, the spreadsheet is based on items that have been tested in a lab so that it will be more accurate than most info one finds elsewhere. That said, I don't have any idea where Sally Norton gets her information, or whether it's tested. I'm just sharing what I have personal knowledge of. Sally did her original training in nutrition at Cornell University and she also worked in public health. Originally she was vegan and vegetarian, very much into plant based diets until she became very ill herself. It was then that she began her research and took a deep dive into the historical medical literature. Medical scientists have known about Oxalates being dangerous for humans since the 1800s and it was Sally that shared that research in one of the interviews with her. I did post a few of her other interviews with different people on the previous BTF, the reason being is that different interviewers ask her different questions. So although there is some overlap in the different interviews, there is also different info in each of the interviews. In the start of her book she honours the people that helped her with her journey with it. When I adapted the Atkins diet to suit my tastebuds, I went through a big sugar detox, so much so, I had the hand shakes for a couple of weeks. However, when I cut out 98% of potatoes and then afterwards discovered the harm oxalates was doing, I shed 2 stone and only felt healthier by having less weight on my joints, so no detrimental impact so far. I think Sally herself went through some issues when dumping oxalates due to her being on a plant based diet at the time. So then it begs the question who else had any detrimental impact when dumping oxalates and what issues did they experience? What was their diet like prior to dumping oxalates? Everyone is different, so impact will be different for everyone. Welcome to the forum and thank you for joining in on the discussion. I don't do FB but glad to hear that there are groups discussing the subject matter. I highly recommend that everyone reads her book before they join any groups so that they comprehend the mechanisms.

Good morning everyone A bit of a sore throat this morning. I still have my tonsils. My parents were too poor to go with the trend in the 50's of removing them and adenoids. SlowLoris ~ up your Vitamin D and take Zinc lozenges. Zinc is a wound healer. And then there is Astragalus for all things antibiotic. Feel better fast! Hey Everybody! Normally I would say "happy Friday", but it is not going to be too happy here. Today or tomorrow we have to say goodbye to a beloved furry family member due to bone cancer. We have discovered what was going on for a long time, too late I am afraid. It is in their skull around the left eye. The one who had dental surgery. ANYWAY... I brought her home from the Cat shelter. She was terrified. She is trying so hard but as of this morning, has stopped eating. I am so so sad. She would sleep EVERY night between our pillows, laying her soft, fluffy Ragdoll forehead against mine. Please excuse me for dumping on y'all, and for my upcoming abscence. I hope y'all have a Great Friday

Cibophobia is defined as the fear of food. I have the direct opposite, if that has a name, I don't know it. Sort of food apathy.
There are times that I forget to eat and my tummy reminds me to stuff something in my mouth to make the uncomfortable feeling go away.
I don't spend much time fretting about nutrition, maybe I should, but I don't.
If I want ice cream and blueberries for breakfast, that's what I eat. I'm not real fond of eggs, but the chickens keep producing the things, so I eat them. I don't buy much processed food, as it is usually devoid of taste and is expensive.
I prefer salads full of whatever is growing in the garden. The garden determines what is for dinner.

Southern Belle, I am so very sorry to hear about your fur baby. :hugs:
I'm not a cat person, but years ago a long haired calico cat decided that she lived at my house (in the house). I named her Rags. She would let the crawling baby snuggle with her and lay her head in the pile of fur. She was the most "chill" cat that has ever been in my house. She earned a special place in my heart.
