Cibophobia is defined as the fear of food. I have the direct opposite, if that has a name, I don't know it. Sort of food apathy.
There are times that I forget to eat and my tummy reminds me to stuff something in my mouth to make the uncomfortable feeling go away.
I don't spend much time fretting about nutrition, maybe I should, but I don't.
If I want ice cream and blueberries for breakfast, that's what I eat. I'm not real fond of eggs, but the chickens keep producing the things, so I eat them. I don't buy much processed food, as it is usually devoid of taste and is expensive.
I prefer salads full of whatever is growing in the garden. The garden determines what is for dinner.
I'm with you! I don't get caught up in food fads either praising the next best "super food" or demonizing some specific compound found naturally in certain whole foods. My personal guidelines; -Avoid processed and ultra processed foods as much as possible, especially high fructose corn syrup. -Eat whole natural foods raised as chemical free as possible, animal & vegetable. -Have diversity and avoid eating too much of any one thing. -If it makes you feel bad or sick... don't eat it.

Good morning everyone A bit of a sore throat this morning. I still have my tonsils. My parents were too poor to go with the trend in the 50's of removing them and adenoids. SlowLoris ~ up your Vitamin D and take Zinc lozenges. Zinc is a wound healer. And then there is Astragalus for all things antibiotic. Feel better fast! Hey Everybody! Normally I would say "happy Friday", but it is not going to be too happy here. Today or tomorrow we have to say goodbye to a beloved furry family member due to bone cancer. We have discovered what was going on for a long time, too late I am afraid. It is in their skull around the left eye. The one who had dental surgery. ANYWAY... I brought her home from the Cat shelter. She was terrified. She is trying so hard but as of this morning, has stopped eating. I am so so sad. She would sleep EVERY night between our pillows, laying her soft, fluffy Ragdoll forehead against mine. Please excuse me for dumping on y'all, and for my upcoming abscence. I hope y'all have a Great Friday Oh, no. Southern Belle, that's a sorrowful thing to learn. Kedis are a quiet part of our lives ~ never as boisterous and dogs and other animal ~ they are just always there with there quiet signs of affection. My heart aches with ya' for the loss of your Ragdoll Baby. Sing her to sleep darlin'.

I've always been interested in nutrition due to my dad being paralysed because when he came out of the army all he would eat was steak and chips. Chips are high in oxalates. Mum cooked great home cooked food but he had refused it. He was in hospital for six weeks and the hospital couldn't find out what was wrong with him. It was a friend of his that knew a lot about nutrition that got him back on his feet when he went to feed him. In my 20s I bought recipe books, in my 30s I bought my first book on how food could heal, its a little book, but it includes scientific studies. It was in my 50s that I began to get more interested in nutrition again because clients were arriving with food issues and health issues that involved food. Then after that I had a really awful end of the menopause that made it a subject matter that I worked on every day to find the solutions to different health conditions that I was experiencing. I was also being divinely guided with the journey too. My view is that generally, people eat far too much food, if I have a meat meal, I often just have a light food or just yogurt the next day. Allowing the digestion system to do its job and not be overloaded. Hence, I agree with you, eat when you are hungry. Although it is better to eat prior to sunset because after sunset anything we eat can increases uric acid levels. I used to like spinach when I had a salad, but spinach is really high in Oxalates, it's a toxin. I've never followed fads in diets, never went in for the low fat regime, always eaten eggs, butter, etc. Always aimed for a balanced diet, although I was fascinated by the mechanism of being able to switch the metabolism from a sugar burning metabolism to a fat burning metabolism, that proposition from Dr Atkins really made sense to me. High protein, low carb diet. What's important about Oxalates in plant food is that it is toxic for the body and it can manifest in many different ways. Even the tartar on the teeth is caused by oxalates, degeneration of eyes leading to torn retina involves oxalate crystalization, when a person has an issue with their gums, oxalates. When I look at a friends health, all of her conditions are related to oxalate toxicity. Plus children's kidneys can't excrete oxalates, so parents are feeding their children toxicity. All the symptoms of common diseases and illnesses show signs of oxalate overload. So it's interesting that medical science knew that oxalates were toxins in the 1800s, but after that produced chips and crisps for people and children to eat. It feels like a conspiracy to me against humanity, when it was known in advance the harm that oxalates could cause. Yet, they filled the stores with it, and big pharma then making mega bucks due to the health conditions that manifested. Humanity have been treated has lab rats for a long time, while others profited from it. Sad, but true.

Do you know how many vegetables don't have toxins for the human body, or how many haven't been modified at all?
Do you know the same about every plant?
I don't, but I'm all ears to listen with an open mind and heart.
This is not a fad, this is about metabolic functionality, bio-chemical processes, the normal functionality of our bodies has God intended.

@=42 Do you know how many vegetables don't have toxins for the human body, or how many haven't been modified at all? Do you know the same about every plant? I don't, but I'm all ears to listen with an open mind and heart. This is not a fad, this is about metabolic functionality, bio-chemical processes, the normal functionality of our bodies has God intended. Many if not all foods have compounds that can have negative effects if consumed in large quantities. Singling out one and blaming it on numerous health issues even though few people are actually sensitive to it is an ever evolving trend or fad if you will, nitrates, gluten, red meat, animal fats, etc... Personally I think that many who get on board with the food sensitivity du jour are just following the fad or misplacing the blame for health issues from other sources like chemical fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, etc..., or the generally nutrient deficiencies that go along with chemical agriculture. As I mentioned in my personal guideline, if it makes you sick don't eat it! You do you and I'll do me. I'm okay with that. Potatoes have been a part of the human diet for hundreds of years across most of the globe and thousands of years in more distinct areas. To single out potatoes or oxalates as a severe health risk ignores the 100's + years of human trials. BTW, a quick search seems to indicate that oxalates are the new hot topic and all the other food that's gonna kill you is okay now.
