Did you know POTATUS and the treasury gnome have spent 2 years negotiating a Global Minimum Tax? Over the past two years, President Biden and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen have negotiated a global minimum tax through the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD). This organization surrenders America’s sovereignty over our tax code and allows foreign countries to take our taxes that were meant for our own essential programs and military. …Until last year, the United States was the only country in the world with a global minimum tax. Here at home, U.S. corporations already face a 21% tax rate. Congress has a long history of using the tax code to incentivize certain behavior from businesses and individuals. …All 25 Republicans of the Ways and Means Committee sponsored the Defending American Jobs and Investment Act. This bill requires the Treasury Department to identify taxes enacted by foreign countries that attack U.S. businesses, like the Undertaxed Profits Rule (UTPR). The UTPR’s goal is to force countries to enact the OECD plan for global socialism and collect more tax dollars from American businesses. The OECD is actively working against American interests, even while the United States funds 20% of its yearly budget. Republicans in Congress have promised to end all funding for the OECD if it continues along this dangerous path. hotair.com/tree-hugging-sister/2023/07/25/did-you-know-potatus-and-the-treasury-gnome-have-spent-2-years-negotiating-a-global-minimum-tax-n567101

Do you think that person is a female?? She's an athlete with not an ounce of fat n her body. Her hair is still wet after getting out of an Olympic size swimming pool and not a snick of makeup on. Give that accomplished young lady a break ~ she's TOPPED Michael Phelps record of most medals won in a season.

I have competed at that level not in swimming but alpine skiing. During competition you don't sleep much. And oh love ya Belle

Well the moon is so bright and no humidity or river fog so its crisp n clear, very bright like lighting at an outdoor concert! I enjoy trading day for night in the dog days of summer and most active 7 pm till 7 am, get all the cooking, cleaning and laundry done before midnight while its cool.
Will wade into the oxalate issue. In the 90’s I drank iced tea by the gallon and we ate guacamole n chips often. I had two serious bouts with kidneystones abt 5 yrs apart. And was told tea and avocados, cashews and spinach all high in them so have cut way back on all 4, upped my lemonwater intake and so far no repeats.
Make fruit/herbal teas now and guacamole is more of a rare treat than regular snack. I discovered Herdez guacamole/tomatillo sauce so can get that avocado flavor on my Mexican meals but much less exposure.
Spinach has been harder to let go as I loved those spinach/cream cheese recipes and served up as bread dip in a breadbowl, spinach deep dish pizza and spinach omelettes. Kale is a safer substitute and my go to with chicken and wildrice now. Basil is wonderful instead of spinach on pizza. And thus save spinach for the Greek omelettes.
Lemon is key. Use it on everything!

Use it on everything! Glad you were able to make the change. I used to like Kale, cooked it in the oven with soya sauce, or just steamed, alas, my GI tract doesn't like it. Cabbage is also low in oxalates, but the digestive system doesn't easily digest it. Some foods are more easily digested than others and some people's digestive systems are more sensitive than others to different foods. I was reading a little more last night and Sally wrote that the elderly and children are most vulnerable to oxalates. I'd also say that our domestic pets are too due to the plant based foods finding their way into dog food. Could be one of the reasons for various illnesses that the pets get now but didn't used to get. Sally, wrote this: "Although we can measure how much calcium is in foods, that measurement often does not tell us if our bodies can use the calcium. Here is an explanation from oxalate experts. P.M. Zarembski and A. Hodgkinson, writing in 1962: "It is well recognised that the calcium and (magnesium) content of food is of little nutritional significance unless considered in conjunction with the oxalic and phytic acid contents.. The avoidance of high oxalate diet would appear to particularly important for elderly persons, who can ill afford wastage of calcium from combination with oxalate. A diet high in oxalate is also undesirable in malabsorption syndrome and in vitamin D deficiency. Then if we review the Covid situation people affected by it were people found to be deficient in Vit D and oxygen e.g Coq10. We also know that men generally have a Zinc deficiency and Women generally have an iron deficiency. Plus during and after the menopause, women require nearly 2/3rds more iron than they did prior to menopause. I don't drink tea and fortunately coffee is fine to drink. Although in hindsight, it would have been better if I hadn't drunk it black since I was 16 years old.

Watching 1883 and a storm rolls through and takes out my satellite 😠😡 Yeah, I was finally watching a Doc on the Minneapolis punk scene in the 80's (some good bands came out of that area in that era)....storms rolled through and were UGLY....power held. 30 min later (after the storm was mostly over), the same goddamn transformer that blew up with last weekend's storms and knocked the power out, blew up again. That is 3 times with the same transformer in the last month. Hopefully they fixed it this time.

The apple juice helps greatly to cut the sharp flavor of cranberry juice. Helps greatly to reduce the chance of recurring kidney stones.
