I have run into a problem. I am registered on another pro board forum. Family Milk Cow
My username is different than the one I use on BTF. I am getting an error when I try to log on here. Tomorrow I will get on my PC and try to figure it out.
Thanks for the alternative BTF meeting place. I have this bookmarked.

Failing that - use a different username, then change your Profile>Edit Profile>Personal>Display Name... I had similar issues setting this place up... |

(Reboot, if necessary) It's most likely showing the old cookie from your cache as it hasn't been updated from the forum. |

We do. They are indicated by the NUMBER shown over the PROFILE in the forum header. Click on Profile, and then click on the NOTIFICATIONS and your "Alerts" will be listed in chrono order!  |

What Daj said - but also if you click the bubble with the number over the 'button descriptor' you will be taken to see what the Alerts are and can click the thread title (don't click the member name) and be taken to the post liked or quoted etc - if multiple alerts use your browsers back button to go to the others... A bubble over Messages is the alert you have a PM... ETA: That 1st part is just a short cut to what Daj said - both do the same thing - clicking the bubble just saves a single click... |

Once you open the Notifications page ~ they will auto-reset when you leave ~ or, you can refresh the page and the "new" will reset ~ the Alerts REMAIN. I haven't found a way to delete them ~ they just scroll down the list ~ and I'm not frettin' it!  |

Is there a way to eliminate or minimize the menu column? On a tablet it takes up one third of the screen. And it cuts off a bit of a posted image, not a huge concern unless you want to read the text on a meme.

We "might" be able to eliminate that column all together ~ the terms of service is the only thing in it and that is also found in the Help Desk area. Munchaab tagging Munchie on this one. |

What is a "BBCode" that shows up when one is making a post?
Also, the "Thread Summary" . Quite a distraction, takes up space, and is (imo) annoying. Does anyone find it useful?

BBC shows strict forum code. Preview shows in normal language. Note: When inserting pictures from Cloudinary you can click from BBCode to Preview and then see the picture. (Cloudinary normally displays in code...but will show in the post as the proper picture.) This is just one of the wee niggles we're getting used to. Remember, this forum host is FREE and we want to KEEP the forum free for all our members. The old saying goes ~ "Ya' get what ya' pay for" ~ we're NOT paying for any of this so we have to get the next best thing. We do our best. |
