Munchaab and a forum friend are working on the coding ~ our last complete backup was several months back and there is the question of the various versions of MyBB software and SQL ~ they don't necessarily play well together, e.g., backwards compatibility, etc.. You see, we do NOT have access to the previous server where all the goodies were ~ we're working from off-site backups. If and when we can get a restoration going, we'll have to put the windows, doors and appliances in the right spots and finally replace the curtains and make sure the roof don't leak. It takes a bit of time ~ but we're workin' on it!  The whois said SG Hosting, is that same as siteground.com ? Would it be fruitless to write them or call and say, look, we're a community forum and something happened to him, once he loses it (and perhaps the domain itself), can't we just bring it back? Too bad it's not seamless? Do they store anything? What Odie said. ^^^ Also, those of us that had access to Siteground cannot get into their accounts ~ we were totally shut out. When we caught up with the former owner late last week we got smoke blown up our tailpipes and he didn't even unlock the forum for us to do a quick snatch & grab. Fortunately, we had off-site backups ~ although honestly, it would have been much easier to start from scratch. But rest assured, we are doing as much as possible to get a new version of our old home ~ spruced up and running again with as much of the former content as possible. Please ya'll ~ hang in there with us!  |

I'm not surprised. Some of us like myself were slow to migrate to BTF from TF because of attitudes like that.
Some did not migrate at all.

And we're attempting to do it again! We're a small forum, but the membership quality is 2nd to absolutely none. |

Currently we're looking at 9/30/22 as the restore point. After that date there were problems that borked the restore. Anyone a member after that date will have to re-join ~ anyone banned after that date gets a free pass. But know, that the TOS will still be in effect and some behavior just deserves banning. It's about choices. |
